Double-Braided Polyester Rope

Double-braided polyester was originally developed and manufactured at the constant urging of a local Ham radio operator. His years of expertise with amateur radio equipment inspired the development of this special double-braided rope to fit the needs of amateur radio operators. We sell it for use with our OCF Dipole Antennas but will provide excellent performance for most any application.

Double-braided polyester ropes are not weakened by decay or mildew and provide excellent resistance to abrasion. The color sealed black polyester yarn used in the braided jacket also protects the cord from ultra-violet light.

The breaking strength of this antenna support rope is computed by using the data published on the McGraw-Hill Man-Made Textile Fiber Chart. The breaking strength of this 3/16" rope is approximately 770 pounds. This is the only size we carry. The care, handling and applications have significant effects on the strength of the braid.

The rope is especially long-lasting in an outdoors application. The ends will not fray once melted using a cigarette lighter or small torch. We recommend this rope for use with our OCF antennas. We will cut it to length based on the number of feet you order. No returns/refunds once it is cut (be sure to order enough.)
